Hurricane Harvey Impact at Austin II (Resolved)

    Hurricane Harvey is still sitting over the Austin area and continues to cause a threat of high winds and flooding. That said, it is now our belife that the danager to the data center is very low. As such we are dropping the status of this issue to low and we will monitor the situation as needed. Thank you for your patience.

    Hurricane Harvey has made landfall. The outter bands are just now arriving in Austin and winds have increased. The data center in Austin remains fully functional.

    The hurricane has been upgraded to a catagory 4. Infinity Host LLC is now moving to a critical level of awareness for the Austin II Data Center. We expect outages and have take internal measures to safe guard as best as possible. Infinity Host LLC HIGHLY suggests you get a copy of your site now. As many accounts as can be are being prepped to be moved at a moments notice to a data center in New York. More to come soon.

    UPDATE 08/25/17
    Hurricane Harvey has been upgraded to a cat2 hurricane. Current models predict that a Cat2 or Cat3 will be the force of the storm for the Austin Texas area. Mandatory evacuations have been 
    initiated for coastal cities. Austin is in a path where widespread outages for power are expected. We will update this page as things progress.

    Hurricane Harvey is well underway and is set to be quite the storm. Here is a little snippet of what the data center is capable of in situations like these:

    • Multiple redundant utility transformers, generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATSs), main switch panels, UPSs and PDUs
    • Priority refueling contracts for continuous generator operation during emergencies
    • Operate at a minimum of N+1 on HVAC system
    • Slab floors, with 14’ overhead plenum for advanced HVAC remediation and delivery
    • Controlled Temperature and Humidity Via building management systems
    • Dry Pipe, Dual-action Fire Suppression System

    As you can see, Infinity Host LLC has taken ever precaution to ensure your content is online and available. However in situations like these its important to understand there may be intermittent outages beyond our control. Currently we do not expect any issues as the Data Center is already well prepared. Should you experience an issue, please notify us as soon as possible. We will be monitoring the situation closely and will work to provide updates as need.     So the big question is always: What can I do to be prepared as well? 

    Infinity Host LLC always suggests having a backup of the data on your site as we are not liable for data loss in your account. You can backup your site by visiting and signing into your account. From there navigate to Backups and create a full account backup. You will get an email when it is complete and can be downloaded for safe keeping. If you need help with this, please contact us as soon as possible.

    Duration of heightened awareness is expected to begin tonight at 9PM CDT and last until Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 at 9PM CDT. These times can viewed at the network status page online.

Shared IP customers are unable to send email (Resolved)

    Currently we are investigating an issue with email routing for incoming emails. This issue is limited to shared IP customers only. As we investigate this issue please notify us if you notice any change. At this time Infinity Host has envolved our NOC and the issue is being tracked at a high priority.

Scheduled Maintenance (Resolved)

  • Hello All,

    Tonight we have scheduled Maintenance that will cause the server to be down. The downtime is for physical hardware Maintenance, the node your site is on is getting a RAM upgrade. I expect that this will take less than 1 hour to configure and upgrade but the offline times are scheduled for 8 PM CST to 9 PM CST. If you have questions please let me know. I will issue an all clear once it is done tonight.
